Poetry Contest


The Soundzine Time Machine Poetry Contest


The contest is simple: write a poem that you feel best evokes the feeling, sentiment or tonal impression of the photograph below by Croatian photographer Damir Alter Matijevic, entitled “Time Machine.”

  • First Prize: $300 (US), a print of any work from the gallery of British artist, Peter Rodulfo , and publication in Soundzine.
  • Second Prize: A print of any work from the gallery of Peter Rodulfo, and publication in Soundzine.
  • Third Prize: Publication in Soundzine


Rules:

  1. Deadline is midnight, Greenwich Mean Time, January 15, 2009. Send all entries in the body of an email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with “Poetry Contest Entry” in the Subject line.
  2. There will be a single anonymous judge, not affiliated with Soundzine, whose identity we will reveal after the deadline. All entries will be judged blindly.
  3. There are no restrictions on length or form.
  4. You do not have to use the title of the photograph "Time Machine" as the title of your poem, nor do you need to take the phrase "time machine" into account.  All we ask is that you use the photograph in some way as you write your poem.  How you do that is up to you.
  5. One entry per person.
  6. Entries cannot have been previously published or submitted elsewhere.
  7. Winners will be announced in Issue #7, February 1, 2009.
