We are honored to have as our first judge, Ms.
Rose Kelleher.   Ms. Kelleher grew up in Massachusetts and now lives in Maryland with her husband. She has worked as a technical writer and programmer, among other things, and published several computer books. Since rediscovering poetry in recent years, she has published poems in a variety of print and online magazines, including Anon, Atlanta Review, The Dark Horse, and, of course, the splendiferous Soundzine. Her first book of poems, Bundle o' Tinder, won the 2007 Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize and was published by Waywiser Press in 2008.

Our photographer, Damir Alter Matijevic, resides in Zagreb, Croatia.  Mr. Matijevic comments:  “I am very satisfied with the poems, and with Ms. Rose Kelleher’s brilliant comments.  It is an inspiration to view the interaction from photo to poem, and back to photo.  I have been a professional cameraman, and have been capturing images for more than 20 years.  Interestingly, the boy in the photograph (taken in 1989) is now a Professor of History, and a published writer and poet.  His name is Filip Matijevic."  You can visit Damir Matijevic's photo gallery here.
