Anja Papenfuss

I'm 34 years old and live in Nuremberg, Germany where I work as software developer. In August 2006, I started to shoot but prior to that spent two years as a hobby model for Gothic clothing and photography . But I wanted to stand behind the camera, to realize my own ideas, to make my own artwork and to be independent of photographers. Some of my friends supported me to learn more about photography and I bought a camera.

My first model was a friend of mine and my first shoot was an unscheduled nude. I'm fascinated by this kind of photography but I prefer to manipulate my pics with composing techniques. The human body is my main interest. One of my favorite artists is Jan Saudek. I'm fascinated to see this special kind of nude shoots. He is able to find beauty in every human. I also make historical clothing and belong to a Victorian re-enactment group. This year, I plan to make a series of pictures of members of this group.

Anja has a unique vision and uses that to create pictures that can disturb yet fill those empty places inside the viewer that aren't even known.
